CRM for project cargo, heavy lift, ODC and breakbulk
Moviqo is the operations CRM Mega Move India built for its own project cargo, heavy lift, ODC and breakbulk desk in Mumbai. It checks every piece for container fit, totals freight tons, finds the vendors who take breakbulk, and keeps drawings, photos and pricing under one RFQ number.
Why it is different
Why do project cargo forwarders need different software?
A container enquiry is a lane and a box count. A project enquiry is a list of pieces, each with its own size and weight, and those pieces decide the equipment, the vessel type, the vendors and the permits. Getting one piece wrong changes the price.
Moviqo was shaped by that work. Mega Move India's founder, Hitesh Kaswan, has spent 15 years in breakbulk, OOG and chartering.
Cargo check
How does Moviqo check OOG and heavy-lift pieces?
Paste the colli list from Excel, in mm, cm or m and with English or German headers, and every piece is checked against typical container sizes and payloads.
- An indicative fit per piece, from 20' GP to open top and flat rack
- Over-width per side beyond 2.438 m, and over-height
- Breakbulk called out with the reason, and heavy lift from 40 t
- Pieces, weights, cbm, freight tons (W/M) and the heaviest piece
Vendors
How do you find vendors who take breakbulk and project cargo?
Vendor routes record the cargo each vendor takes, with breakbulk, project, heavy lift, ODC and RoRo among the options. Breakbulk and project RFQs are matched to vendors with those routes on file: breakbulk and project operators, chartering desks and lines that offer OOG. Mega Move India's own procedure floats them to every matching vendor, and to at least three.
- Drawings, cargo photos, packing lists and MSDS as files on the RFQ
- A project milestone template on the job
- Road legs for ODC moves in the Transport workspace, priced with heavy-haul vendors
- Own hydraulic axles and trailers in the Fleets workspace, with their national permit, insurance, PUC and road tax expiry dates
- Each vendor's pricing in its own section, revised when the cargo or route changes
- Hazardous details with the UN number and IMO class
Terms
What is the difference between OOG, ODC, breakbulk and project cargo?
-
OOG
Out of gauge
A piece wider, higher or longer than a closed container or its door takes, so it ships on an open top or flat rack, or as breakbulk.
-
ODC
Over-dimensional cargo
In India, mostly a road load beyond the legal vehicle dimensions, needing a suitable trailer and permission to move.
-
BREAKBULK
Breakbulk
Cargo loaded piece by piece into a ship's hold or on deck rather than in containers, usually priced per freight ton.
-
PROJECT
Project cargo
The equipment for one project, often a mix of containers, OOG and breakbulk pieces, moved to a plan and a schedule.
-
HEAVY LIFT
Heavy lift
A piece too heavy for normal handling. Moviqo's cargo check marks any piece of 40 t or more; lines set their own thresholds.

Questions
Project cargo: common questions
What software do project cargo forwarders use for RFQs?
Mail and Excel are common, because general sales CRMs are not built around piece lists. Moviqo registers the RFQ first, reads the colli list from Excel, checks each piece for container fit and keeps each vendor's pricing in its own section under the same number.
Can Moviqo tell whether cargo needs a flat rack or breakbulk?
Yes, as an indicative first check: it gives a fit per piece from typical container sizes and payloads, with over-width per side and over-height, and calls out breakbulk and heavy lift with the reason. Confirm with the line before quoting.
How does Moviqo calculate freight tons for breakbulk?
For each piece it takes the higher of the weight in tonnes and the volume in cbm, then adds the pieces up. The W/M guide works through examples.
Does Moviqo handle chartering?
Partly: it handles the enquiry, the vendor pricing (chartering desks included), the quotation and the job, but it has no charter-party or voyage-estimate tools.
